IVOBANK 'BANKS' ON PASPORTE'S MANAGED SERVICES |

SECURE & ROBUST ICT INFRASTRUCTURE FOR NEWLY LAUNCHED ONLINE BANKING SERVICE
Pasporte, the UK's leading provider of managed ICT outsourcing to the mid-market and sister company to Evolution Voice & Data, today announces a five-year managed services contract with Ivobank, a banking service that specialises in online payments and money transfer services. Pasporte will host and manage Ivobank's twin datacentres, desktop applications, and Local Area Network, and is designed to deliver a robust, secure and compliant service experience to the bank's customers. Launched in 2008, Ivobank is targeted at customers of online gaming and retail sites, as well as customers and businesses wanting to make secure transactions via the Internet. The online nature of the service means resilience and availability at the IT infrastructure layer is critical. Furthermore, as a newly launched 24/7 online global banking system, service delivery is essential to developing Ivobank's reputation and brand within the industry and its customers. Richard Maddams, Director of Technology and Operations of Ivobank, comments; "There are two essential elements for running an online banking service, security and availability. It was essential, therefore, that the underlying infrastructure upon which the banking applications are built, is secure, robust, and safeguarded against downtime. "A hosted IT strategy allows us to apply stringent SLAs against the performance and availability of the service. Additionally, Pasporte provides us with access to a variety of IT skills and experience that would be cost prohibitive for us, as a start-up business, to acquire in-house. It also means we can easily flex and scale our IT infrastructure according to business growth." Working closely with Ivobank's banking application developers, Pasporte developed an infrastructure that would be scalable and have the capacity and power to manage the volume and frequency of online transactions. A twin-datacentre strategy, with near real-time data replication and automated switch-over in case of failure, was selected for its performance and disaster recovery assurances. The service will be continually monitored and analysed to strict security policies and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Gary Woodward, Chief Executive of Pasporte, adds, "Start-up businesses need immediate access to the full IT toolkit, but will rarely have the capital funds to acquire either the infrastructure or skilled personnel to implement and manage it. A lean, managed IT strategy and service that is developed to the specific needs of a business, and can be acquired at an upfront monthly rate, makes it far easier to get signed off with the financiers of an organisation. "In this scenario, Ivobank is benefitting from an IT service that underpins the entire business proposition and which offers continued evaluation and adjustments to meet the stringent security and compliance agreements demanded by the industry, and, more importantly, its customers." About Ivobank, www.ivobank.com Ivobank is an online bank providing secure and reliable payments and money transfer services designed to meet the needs of online businesses and customers. Ivobank offers competitive rates of interest on funds held. Ivobank is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. TELINET SHARES TRADE SECRET FOR COMMERCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFICIENCY; REVEALS LATEST IP EXPERTISE FOLLOWING ACQUISITIONS |
IP'08, London, 1-2 October 2008 |
|
Telinet, a converged IT and telecommunications specialist and sister company to Evolution Voice & Data, is to showcase its newly extended portfolio of solutions and services at this year's IP'08, which ranges from unified communications and mobility through to the latest in bleeding edge data centre design.
The extension of Telinet's suite of ICT expertise comes from a series of group acquisitions, bringing a further three well-established IT and telecom organisations including Pasporte, RGT, and Evolution Voice & Data into the fold. Simon Osman, chief operating officer at Telinet, comments; "We are now able to call upon the knowledge and wide-ranging ICT portfolios of our three sister companies. As a group, we have even greater power to ensure that our customers are benefiting from the most resilient and bespoke services and solutions, meaning they gain even more competitive advantage from their ICT strategy." A focal point of Telinet's stand will be an interactive presentation of the latest in data centre design. The data centre, which was recently built for IT services provider, Netstore, demonstrates a number of innovative design features and trade secrets that aim to maximise commercial and environmental efficiency. "One such secret we'll be sharing with delegates," adds Osman "is to turn the thermostat up. Most data centres are kept unnecessarily cool, as recommended by storage and UPS vendors. A data centre, however, will perform equally well at a higher temperature, and in doing so, data centre owners will see a significant reduction in their energy bill."
